KY Shindig and Fruit Jar boaters---BE AWARE!!
KY and Barkley Lakes are both at the lowest levels (354.5) I have ever fished them and lots of ramps are barely usable to terrible. Even some of the larger public ramps are roughing up trailers and props.
Another thing, if you have LakeMaster map cards or cards on your electronics that allow you to off-set your depth setting, be sure to do so.Normal setting for LakeMaster is 359.4. I sat mine for 355 last week and had my shallow water alarm coloration at 4 feet deep and plowed right thru the middle of a sand bar I have probably crossed no less than 500 times over the years. I ended up scratching up my prop and knocking out a small chunk of the lower skeg.
On a brighter note, you can now see lots of stumps and a few house foundations and even sunken barges that I've never seen before. If you have a hankering to get out and wade around 1/2 mile from the shore and not get your knees wet, there are plenty of those spots.
The big white birds that are all over the place are pelicans.
