It's been a while but I've seen that exact scenario myself on KY and Barkley, sadly one of them was my pick-up my brother failed to get into park. I also saw an expensive van at Ken Lake State park that was only being kept afloat by the Ski Nautique ski boat still attached to the trailer that was somewhere under the van. All that could be seen of the van were the rear windows. I always figured that guy would teach his wife/girlfriend somewhere else to practice launching the boat besides on the steep ramp.
I was at Eddy Creek last weekend. That ramp was so steep that the truck was sliding down it a bit when I was backing in a 21' bass boat. I hate that feeling of almost being out of control.
Mrdux sounds like you was lucky not to get anyone hurt that day. I have taken to putting out a chock block behind the wheel if the ramp is very steep. I don't really trust the parking brake.
