Spring Trip Advice
Hello fellow fisherman!
Looking to plan our annual spring trip (March/April) and seeking advice. We have been going to Ky Lake and Weiss the past 8 years. Looking to try a new place. We prefer to longline but will adjust as we prefer to catch crappie! Any advice about lakes in SC that are particularly good or are in a good cycle would be greatly appreciated.

I would suggest Clarks Hill on the SC/GA border.

Have to agree with CB. For an all around good lake Clark Hill would be one to hit in the spring.

Thank you for the feedback. Never had that one on the radar. I will check it out!

Clarke hill is a good lake and if you like the excitement of catching striper and hybrids on crappie tackle then that adds to it. I will fish it a lot in the spring next year and for a spring trip I am planning a trip to lake Stockton in Missouri next year. Looking to fish for crappie walleye and small mouth bass in one week.

I agree, Clark Hill is a Great fishing lake and hard to beat in the Spring !
Think you will be pleased.

Echo the others, Clarks Hill hard to beat. I would not wait until April however. Mid March generally good, but sometimes the best bite is late Feb on the larger fish.

No! No! No! Clark Hill is a TERRIBLE lake to fish.:biggrin:biggrin J/K:) There's also Lake Russell within a short drive of da' hill in case you want to venture out. If and when theyre biting on Russell theyre easy to find since there is only the "popular" spots to fish unless you want to be in the trees.
