Fellas trying to figure out the best way to go between line counter reels and rod mount line counters. Also what is the smallest line counter reel out there today that would be good for straight lining crappie or pulling crankbaits.
Thanks

Don't know anything about these but they are pretty cheap for line counter reels and would probably be better than just line counters.:dono

powerpro depth hunter line . throw away the line counters.
I've tried the clip on line counters, they are a pain. Those LC reels scrat posted are what I use, the 15's are fine for crappie. $25 each for the reel with line counter versus $15 for the clip on. Spool them up with some vicious mono and roll with it.
Thanks for the advise fellas. Where I fish, we use a lot of drop shots in the winter with double minnow rigs up to 25 ft deep. Have used spinning reels for a lot of years and they work ok but have to drop to the bottom and come up. When the water temp reaches the mid 30's they tend to school up tight and you have to be pretty much spot on to catch them
