WTB: Old 8mm cassette video camera, Mini DV camera, or players

I've got some in-boat fising videos from back in the late 90's and early 2000's on 8mm cassette and Sony Mini-DV format cassette video tape that I'd like to convert to digital format. My 8mm cassette video camera no longer works and I cannot find my Sony mini-DV video camera so I am looking to buy one of each for the sole purpose of transferring them from camera to digital on my computer. If anyone has either of these that they have laying around unused in a closet, or a player for either, I'd be interested. Thanks!

I don't know how many you want to digitize but there are companies that will do it for you. If it is only a few the $10 or so they charge would be better than buying equipment that will never be used again.

Yes, I have checked into having a company do it for me as I have many, many tapes, and my time investment will be great. I would not risk shipping them and having them lost, and the only company locally is 70 miles from here and charges $24.95/tape. Considering that these old cameras and video players are dinosaurs and as obsolete as the VHS/Beta format the equipment has little residual value...MUCH cheaper than paying a company to do it for me. My need is a blessing to the right person with one of these cameras: consider...what if there was a ready buyer for that 1990's computer or flip phone you probably have laying around?

Check with Costco. I had some Super 8 movies from the late sixties and early 70's converted to dvds. Price was very reasonable but I did leave the movies with them for a couple weeks.

where are you located in Tx. ,I have a Sony handy-cam, it is a 12 year old model DCR-HC30. I have not used it much , it was a 30yr. service award from the company I worked for . I have a few tapes and the charger , still in the box it came in. make me an offer .
