Lake Blackshear
Hey Guys! I'm planning on taking some of my students to lake blackshear tomorrow since they are on fall break this week. I'm going to be putting in at the 300 bridge by striplings. Any suggestions? Should I troll or throw to cypress trees etc? Thanks! Hoping to get these boys on some fish!!

I have been catching them trolling the river channel edges 15-20 fow. Any wood pile is holding crappie, fish with a single 1/16 jig and a #7 split shot about 18in above the jig or double rig a 1/32 and 1/16, either will work.
Good luck!

We trolled edges of channel In 15-25 foot of water. Good luck on getting out of the wind. Our best bait was 1/16 pony with #5 piece of lead or double 1/16. Good luck

Looking at NOAA's Thursday forecast for Cordele/Blackshear area...its saying 10-15 mph with gusts to 25 mph.
Just a suggestion, You might want to postpone as Blackshear will be whitecapping with those winds. Trolling is going to be near impossible.
I have been on Blackshear in high winds...its rough and not fun.

I saw that too! I think we're going to head to Sinclair instead. I don't think the wind will be as bad there. Thanks so much for your help!
