Lowrance Go Free App

WIFI is in its infancy for marine applications. The Go Free app lets me use my Iphone or Ipad to control my HDS Gen2 Touch. The Go Free app allows the info on the HDS display to appear on the IPhone and the Iphone/Ipad can be used as another display. I may have to upgrade to GEN3 stuff when it goes on sale. I am also considering the Simrad units.

HDS has excellent Ethernet and NMEA integration. The Ethernet allows map sharing and waypoint sharing. Good tool.

I'll be getting the wifi module eventually for displaying to a monitor for training and seminars ...

That module is not cheap (compared to a simple cable for my other units for that specific purpose) ...

I'll probably play with the app too ...(as the module is the initial expense) ...

We were just talking about this last weekend. Why can't I just wifi or blue tooth on my phone.
Some things, like editing waypoints would be easier. Of course I was talking about HB, but it still applies.
