3D Printed Fishing Lures

Is anyone here tried making custom fishing lures using 3d printing? I think it's a great idea but is it really safe?

I am a DIY guy myself so would love too dabble into this but not sure it at this point (Until it becomes more safer)
I should avoid it completely.
