Well there has been on here alot , about how long different materials to build Crappie cover lasts . The Corps have pulled our local lake down 8' below spring time levels and it is basically a shallow lake . Finding since last drawdown in 2010 , that lots of cover gone or in bad shape . In less than 6 years most of the Bamboo gone or settled to the bottom . Christmas tree about the same . Stake beds still look good ( driven in ones of larger stakes look best , some made of 2''x 4'' Hardwood ). The heavier brush piles ( larger dia trees and limbs) still look good . The PVC still mostly good shape but some cross members gone if not fastned securely , but i never catch much on it with all the wood sunk here .
