Gonna start stocking up on some crankbaits to start pulling for the first time. I did pick up a few today of the strike king slab hammers and got a couple orange push-ups, pink, and a couple limetruse. Just wondered what else I should get of if you all have any favorite colors your willing to share on here. Probably gonna try to get some bandit 200's next and maybe a couple 300's. I know crankbait season is starting to wind down but with it still pretty warm, thought I'd give it a try
Look at the underside color. Grab a few light/white ones, a few dark ones, a few shiny ones, and few dull ones. Then you should be good to go.

Pink - Chartreuse - Black - Red - Purple - Orange (and combinations thereof)
One other consideration is to get cranks in the colors or color combinations of the jigs that you have found to work the best in your specific waters.
And don't fret about the season winding down ... if the seasonal forecast is correct, you may have a couple more months of water warm enough to use cranks.

Go to the Arkansas board, look for a post nimrod made today, it lists a link for outletbaitandtackle, click on that link and it takes you to a section of bandits. These are the 250 ledge baits which are between a 200 and 300 in size but dive 12/14 ft. Get 2 of each. Cheap as you will ever find Bandits.

My basic first spread would contain solid black, every time, cloudy or bright. Hot pink, Chartreuse, blue back w/white underside, Shad colors with a sexy shad being a good one, purple/chart combo also had it's good days.
Cloudy and bright days will use different colors. Naturals and colors will show stronger with the amount of cloud cover. Have fun, it's a ball.
250 ledge is a much larger and deeper bait than a 300 Bandit. I run a bunch of them. They are no longer in production.Quote:
