A Quick Trip Today... (9/14)

Yea, I know my last post said I wouldnt be fishing for awhile but I the love to fish is in me and I just cant stay away. LOL :biggrin

Today I had plans on my last day off this week to get some seed down on the 3 food plots I have so it had to be short and sweet on the water this morning. The weather started out GREAT...overcast and in the low to mid 70's with a slight breeze. Water temps were around 83-83.5 * depending on where you looked. The bite started a little slow but before long it was on and as before the blue/black and red/black with chart tails dominated. I tried staying in water from 12.5' to 20' deep pulling jigs around 10' deep. My plans were to quit at 9:30AM regardless of the outcome and get the rest of todays plans done (which I finally did).:)

Fish was biting pretty good when I got all the rods up so the final tally was actually 43 crappie caught with 26 making the trip home.:)

Good report Butch. Glad to see the crappie are treating you right and the bite has been good for you. That's a nice mess in the well, congrats and thanks for the report :)

Our gun season has been in since Aug. 15 and I've sat 4 times. Seen deer 3 of the 4, but man it's been hot! I'm bout tired of watching already though. Bout time to put some sausage in the freezer. Soon as this moon gets through with going full I believe my trigger finger will finally get to go in motion!

Thanks guys. It's been a great summer of fishing for me. I never seen the water start out on any morning above 88 degrees and the fish stayed with the bait all summer. Ive fished in quite a few different places and there days I had to FIND biting fish but if you look hard enough you will find 'em. But for now it's about time to see things start changing and the fall feed to begin so hopefully the bigger fish will move in more readily. Anyway, thanks for the comments and I can can say is.....go get you some.:)
