My Last Fishing Trip For Awhile (9-6)
With bow season beginning this coming Saturday I still had ALOT to do to be ready but still wanted to squeeze in one last fishing trip too. Once deer season opens it'll probably be awhile before I carry the boat out again. So...after checking the weather for Monday and Tuesday I decided that I'd spend Monday preparing food plots getting 'em ready for planting so today had to be the day. I still had a deer stand to get up so I knew it would be a short trip but this is the story anyways...
Got to the ramp, unloaded and idled down the lake waiting on good light. Didnt take long and I was planed off and on my way. Elected to go back to the spot where I caught them before and low and behold they were still there. Started fishing right after light and finished a Ga limit of 30 keepers at 9:30AM. Total caught was 54 crappie.

Water temps were down a couple degrees and the bite was more aggressive than has been lately. They really rocked the jigs and at times was taking some drag. Lots of gar still hitting on top as has been the case for a couple months now but everything I was catching was in 13'-19' of water my jigs were running 9'-10' deep at a speed of 1.0-1.3 mph.
The forecast I looked at the other nite says this week still hot but afterwards the highs going into the mid-upper 80's and the lows low to mid 60's. If this holds true the lake temps will cool even more and the bite will even get better. Re-line your reels guys cause it's fixing to get real!!
Here's the limit of fish I kept today...
