Where is arkansas's best place to live for fishing?

I have been on crappie com for several years living in Memphis Tn and fishing mostly the Big 4 in Ms. my question is, if I were to move to Arkansas ,where is the best town to live for fishing and way of life for the outdoorsman? I mainly crappie fish but wouldn't be opposed to change up and trout fish as well,,we also have a nice family farm located in North Central Arkansas in Salem for deer hunting..Trying to weight my options here folks,,, Just need alittle input from people that have maybe done the same... Thanks!

I'm from Greenbrier and love the central area of the state. It's less than an hour drive to Brewer, Overcup, Conway, Greers, Dardanelle, Nimrod, and the Little Red for trout. And about a 3-4 hour drive to the big 4 just depending on which one you fish. Nice area too with really low crime. Voted safest city in Arkansas last year

I know the locals will have more input but, I lived in the Russelville area and Springdale area in mid to late 80's. I enjoyed both but if I was going back Russelville area is where I would go. Dardenell and Nimrod are hard to beat for Crappie and Bass. Conway just a hop,skip and jump down the road. Several other places that aren't that big a drive. I know it has grown up some but nothing like living in the Memphis area. Really enjoyed my time there and meet a lot of great people.

Russellville area hard to beat . Great town with easy access to public hunting and lots of Corps , AGFC , and water supply lakes . Been thinking of a move to Russellville myself , already live less than 30 miles from there now .:twocents

Cray,,,, Memphis is for crazy folks IMHO,,,, I grew up in the north east on Cape Cod... I left there years ago because people lost their minds and property got too expensive to buy or rent,,, Memphis back in 97 wasn't too bad , but since then, it's gone straight to the dogs,,,I just can't stomach another year or two here,,,My son and his daughter along with our two grandsons moved to Rogers just a few years ago and it's been nothing but great for them in their early years for getting great jobs and affordable housing,,,we have thought about Rogers area, but I'd hate to move too close so where your children get too dependent on us once we retire,,,I think once we retire here in a few years, we' d like to kick back and enjoy life...Not babysit every weekend and change diapers..lol... So to put a few miles inbetween us wouldn't be such a bad thing,,,Beaver Lake looks great, but I've never heard anybody he brag about fishing it... What's your opinions?

Mountain Home,Close to salem Ark,You have the White and norfork river's for trout and the White River Chain of lakes to fish. Bull shoals,Norfork,Table Rock, Lake of the Ozarks. Just to name the big lakes lots of small lakes,Lure co,fly tying co. plastic bait making co.Boat co BassCat and Ranger and Bass Pro shops just across the State line in spring field Mo.Mount home has a great hospital/doctors. Ozark National forest/Mark twain national forest just across the State line in Missouri. for hunting.Check out the Ozark Angler's Forum.

Beaver lake is a very clear body of water and the poorest fishing of all the white river lakes. Momma and I are retiring in the next few years and are going to buy on table rock, I'll have table rock, Bull Shoals, Norfork, the white river and Taney como within an hours drive. We just love the Ozark mountains.

Dumas, Dewitt or Pine Bluff. Great fishing nearby. Not so great for places to live but that wasn't the question. Texarkana might not be so bad. Hot Springs too. Really about anywhere is the right answer.
