Well I did it... I pinched the transducer cable in the terrova (helix 10 si di). I've never used the US2 2d sonar that is built in to the terrova.
Trying to determine if I need additional parts to plum up the internal sonar/cable to the helix until I get a new transducer on?
You will need the Minn Kota to 7pin adapter cable ...

You should also shut off the DI transmitter in the HELIX DI by setting the "Connected Transducer" menu to "Dual Beam" under the Sonar tab in the Main Menu System ...

Thank you. I'm glad you mentioned that. I called hbird customer service to ask if there was harm in running the helix si on the us2.

I have a HB 598 SI that I broke the cable about 4' from transducer. Had nothing to loss so cut cable and run it on teroovia ran it in grove and spliced it and taped it to shaft. Not a pro job but it works and the cable is now out of the way!!!!
Maybe too late now but if you want to mount another transducer to the Terrova look at the top for Terrova transducer mount. I did mine and it looks and works great. No more pinched or cable in the way.
What is the purpose of turning off the transmitter besides gaining a few milliseconds in the processor execution time?

Any circuit that generates a signal depends on the emitter - in this case a transducer - to complete the circuit. The setup of the circuit depends on the load completing it. Sort of like an outboard with its prop out of water, the engine has a tendency to overrun when this happens. Some transmitters have what is referred to as a fold-back safety which will cut the output power when there is no load. Even if this is available it is advisable to "turn off" the specific output of a generating circuit when the load is not present.Quote:
