Has anyone heard anything about the white perch dying off in the past week or so
Nope but I saw two dead ones on Friday, just assumed someone dumped them. I would think the only thing that could kill them would be a dry lake.
A friend told me that he had talked to someone that went to Harris over the weekend and saw several large bass and tons of white perch floating. Let's hope that it's not a kill like Jordan had a few years ago.

The perch have been dying off for about 2 weeks at Harris was there today and they are floating by the hundreds. Biologist were all over the lake this am with the electro shocking boat but I did not get to speak with them. I would guess low oxygen and heat. Im on the lake 3 to 4 times a week and have not caught a perch in 3 weeks. On the bright side bass crappie and cata seem to biting good and have not seen any floating.
I'll be there Saturday night hope that the crappie are bittin good. Thinking bout puttin a cat rod out to

Floating perch but no floating crappie? I see that as a good thing. I was always thinking about what could be done to thin the dadgum perch out of our lakes without harming the crappie. Just what the doctor ordered maybe.

We should be so lucky that all the White Perch statewide would die off. Now. if we can keep The NC Wildlife from restocking this invasive species. One must ask 'how did virtually every lake in the state, including the city lakes become infested with White Perch?"
