FS: Honda Marine BF20 Tiller Short Shaft-PICS

I have a 2015 Honda Marine BF 20 short shaft tiller portable outboard motor for sale. Motor is in excellent and does not have an hour meter. This motor was on a used boat I recently purchased and the shaft is actually too short for the boat so I need to upgrade to a longer shaft tiller motor. The motor has power tilt, electric and rope start.

If that is the boat that it is being used it looks like the right length shaft to me . But sometimes pictures can be deceiving. Good luck with your motor sell.

Thanks......It's border line as the transom is 16" and when in motion it barely has enough water to keep the motor cool. The motor discharges in the tank and when the boat is at idle however, when in motion it does not.

it looks like you have a 4 blade prop !!! have you tried a 3 blade to see if that would fix your issue ??? a prop is a whole lot cheaper then a different motor !!! just saying !!!

Put on a small jackplate. Lots cheaper than a motor.

They make a small rigid aluminum Jack plate that is made to raise a long shaft motor on short transom boats. All you have to do is turn it upside down and bolt it on to drop your motor a couple of inches. My thought is a long shaft motor is going to be to deep in the water for your boat and the shallow water I'm assuming you fish in with that boat.

This is not my boat, but it is how I set my Jon Boat up with reguard to were to set the motor. I have a 15 merc on a jackplate CMC PT35. I run about 25-27 mph. 4 inch back is clean water. A Jackplate spacer would probably work.

Good bunch of people and they will help you with your issue.

I believe you have a Gheenoe LT25 based on the 16" transom, but most guys still run a short shaft motor. Most guys mount there motor to where the cav plate is even with the drain hole OR higher for optimum performance. I'm pretty sure the factory even recommends a short shaft motor.

Here is how motor should be on boats. A jackplate will help with the adjustment.
