Wish a few more would post from your part of the state. Hope someone will reply to your thread that is a kayak fisherman. People don't know what they are missing catching fish for a yak. Let us know about some of your trips and catches as it may get some others interested.

One of the best areas anywhere to fish from a kayak is the Sparkleberry Swamp. This is in the upper end of Lake Marion on the east (or Sumter)side. Flooded cypress trees and narrow creek channels means very little jet ski and pleasure boat traffic. Beautiful area loaded with fish.
Just don't go the weekend of the Duck Run.
They run ducks in the swamp? Bet that is a site to behold.
No it is a fancy name for a bunch of half drunk rednecks racing through the swamp. Kinda like a poker run, but in the swamp. Course the gals in skinny bikinis make it interesting to watch.
And no....I have not been to it but my nutty friends that have the cabin at Stumphole go every year and take plenty of pictures.
Ray did you forget that I ran into you there this year? I was drinking bottle water but I don't know what you were drinking(:cheers2) You must have talked to me for an hour and your words were kinda slurry. Seems like you were having a great time.:biggrin
I don't know what you were drinking but it wasn't bottled water. :hatchet:
OK we have hijacked Duck's post. Back to the subject at hand, sorry Duck.
Has no one fished that area from a kayak??
