Harris 8/9
Went to Harris last night. Only got to fish for an hour before we started to have boat problems. Caught 5 small ones. Is the thermocline gone right now due to all the rain? Fished in a 19 fow all were caught in about 8 fow. Hopefully I can get the boat fixed by Saturday

I don't think the thermocline will go away until the lake turns over in the fall. Someone else can chime in on this.
Over the last couple of weeks I was hitting them pretty good over brush and other structure. This past weekend I only managed a few in the same spots. I plan to try the flats this week to see if I can change my luck. Someone else posted about catching all theirs on the flats at a different lake.
Hopefully it's a quick fix and cheap. I thought my boat was going haywire recently. I would throttle down and it would sputter and all the gauges were going crazy. Only lasted a couple of seconds though. I started checking the obvious things and sure enough the battery cable was loose. Big breathe of relief.

Thanks for the report
I'm headed to Harris this evening myself, I'll let you know how I do

Over the past ten days, Jordan has gone up a foot and is coming back down to normal. The movement of the water has, for a few days, eliminated the thermocline in certain areas. Harris rarely goes up or down more than a few inches at most. Like Hockey86 said, it will be the Fall before the thermocline goes away. I haven't been on Harris lately, but I would think the water temperature on the top is in the mid to upper 80's.

At least your problem was easy to fix mine cost me $500. The voltage regulator went out on mine.

Last Saturday the water temp was 88. Felt like bathwater and played havoc on my minnows. Going from the cold water at the bait store to that temp is tough. I've started using an aerator all time now instead of changing the water periodically. My plan is to hit Harris this evening too (depends on what time I can leave work). Probably won't be there until roughly 6:30.

Last night the water temp was 86 degrees.

Tuesday morning the water temp was 84.5. I didn't mark a fish deeper than 14 ft.. I didn't see any birds and the bass were busting shad on top all over the lake.

Can throw a frozen bottle of water in the bucket to keep the water cool. Also remember when running your air pump it is pumping hot air into the water. Don't know how to help that one as I deal with that too.
