That was some good reading. Over the past 25-30 years I've put out limbs, bamboo, Christmas trees, PVC, and what ever else I could think of. All were producers and some, if you want to say were a wast of time. The bottom line ,IMHO, is LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION. Located in the right area all will produce fish.:twocents

I have put out all kinds of stuff and seen lake lowered afterwards too . Plastic /pvc never produced much but lasts . Bamboo produces but decays fairly fast . Brush great stuff but limited on staying power unless you use larger diameter stuff . My best ick has to be stakebeds . Hang less and lasts for years . Pallet stakebeds last well if you use hardwood and good fasteners (coated or ss nails or screws ) . The driven stakes if heavy stakes up to 2 to 4 '' thick out of hardwood or red cedar have a real long life . They don't move and fish love em .Other than pvc they are easiest to fish without hang ups too . Solid wood will rot so slowly if kept submerged they should outlast most of us . There are stumps in my home lake that have been there since 1942 when lake was filled . Some float off everytime lake is lowered and they dry out . We been driving stake beds around some big ones and on drops . Location means everything when building cover .

It's been years since I have put brush in but we use to find small birch trees along the bank, undeveloped land I might add, and load on the front of the boat, ride out find the spot and drop it overboard, sinks fast and produced within a week
