D' Arbonne 8/9
Bro and I found space in the boat for a Grandchild ( Girl) .... School did not get her enrolled right over the summer when the family moved here in June... we went Catfishing by the old State Park from 7 to 11 Am.... we tied off to a channel marker fishing a few inches off the bottom. Angie and Johnny had a hard time getting anything to bite while I could not keep the fish off mine. I would hook a fish and pass the pole to them while hooking up with another. 6 got off at the net. lots of fish got off by streightening out th hook..... The final count Angie 1 -- Johnny 2 -- Me, 22.... Filets without Bone 9 Pounds 12 ounces.. One girl hooked on Catfishing

Were you fishing the channel side or flats? What do you use for bait?

Good for you Larry, sounds like a fun trip for sure, and you showed 'em how to do it.

Not fishing the flats !!!! the Channel has the Inversion layer at 20 feet by our electronics. We tied off to a Channel marker located at 18 feet , swinging with the wind to cover a larger area. However the Catfish were all hanging close to the marker. I was using 3 Crappie Poles, Lines dropped streight down, one foot apart, about 6 feet from the marker. 1/2 Of a Canadian Crawler , or Cold worm on a long shank Bream hook .... they were sucking it down like they had not eaten in a week. Angie is 12 years old and big enough to really get into a good fish. ----- I know we all love a good picture but these new electronic Gizmos all hate me.
