Took a unplanned vacation day and hit the lake around 10:00am, heavy overcast skies, drizzling rain was what I had to deal with from the start. Much worse was to come a few hours later. The bite was not that good, the fish were deep, holding tight, and lock jawed. But as the case most times, determination, desire, and patience wins out. Most fish were caught on straight lined minnows over or near brush piles. I caught what I did just in front of a massive deluge. No thunder, no lightning, just slow moving rain showers that dumped piles of rain.
