How do you store your jig heads before you tie

I have been making a bunch of jig heads in sizes 1/100-1/4 for tying. I tie on these heads for panfish and bass. I have a lot of different sizes and types and colors. Multiple different hook sizes per weight and a multitude of colors. I was thinking about getting a plano box and dedicating it for each weight but the multiple sized hook per weight complicates that. Another idea was putting them all in bags and then separating the bags by weight.

How do you all store your jig heads before you tie?

I keep mine in just old plastic containers and I put a label on each as to weight and hook size and type. Some I just bought like the ziplock plastic little tubs with lids. If it's one I don't keep a lot in I have some in old dog food plastic containers someone gave me that are small, but still will hold a couple hundred at least. Some I used any larger containers from my wife's kitchen, lol! I have them all in a large book shelf that sits behind me when I tie.

I have one plano box that holds all the common ones that I use a lot of. For the rest I use small ziploc bags that I get from wally for a couple of dollars a hundred. Some are small, like 1 1/2 X 2" and go up a little in size til I get to 3X4 or so. I find a lot of uses for these small bags as I tie, I think you will too. I have a small roll around toolbox for the stuff this addiction needs and some of those bags hold the oddball heads that I only order every couple of years. One drawer has lots of those little bags.

Use a lot of 3x3, 4 mil zip bags.

Styrofoam "coffee cup's"different size's".Coffee can's different sizes.Will hold a lot of jig heads,"Cheap",stack able,easy to store,Also works great for painting/hanging jigheads to dry.Just write on top of each cup 1/48,1/64 ect. Make sure jigheads are cool will burn through cup.2 cent's.We mold a lot of jighead's of different sizes and shape's.

Make sure that you keep your jig heads dry keep them away from all moisture when you are storing them. I found out the hard way when I ship mine from Texas up here in the boat in the storage bin the moisture got in there and I had 10,000 heads in plastic bags they sweated in kind not turn to a powder or oxidizing so whatever you do keep them dry.

So are you back & settled in in Oregon all safe & in one piece? Gosh all that moving would have me worn out for the next 5 years (of course at 76 years-- even a 4 inch bluegill has been known to wear me out. :dono )

Okay here is a quick phone picture of my shelves with jig heads stored. Just remember when looking that each shelf has a double row and some behind are just more supply to the front but all plastic containers on the back row are just a different hook size or style. Like all my regular bend hooks are in the back row on these 2 shelves.

Oh and the little fan is there for when I use Vinyl paint or my Glow jig work.

This. Label with a sharpie. Easy to grab the right ones.

just plain old zip bags for me
