Had 2 'mater sammiches today for lunch. Believe theyre called Cherokee Purples or something like that. Theyre AWESOME...full of acid. Wished I had kept up with how many mater sammiches Ive had this summer but I didnt. Oh well......thanks for sharing.:)

Looks good. You on a bacon shortage around the house. I usually put 4-6 pieces on each sandwich. :biggrin

Bring me a couple out Sat. a.m. Look for me around Torrence Branch. And double the Dukes mayo on mine.

I had one of them for lunch today, also. But I had more bacon and some lettuce and more dukes mayo and lot of salt and pepper! Mine was on Texas toast, lightly toasted! The only thing wrong was.... I wasn't on the lake... I was working!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Growing up a mater sammich was just that. Mater, Mayo and bread. You city folks done dressed'em up with bacon. If you gonna add bacon you need to add lettuce. Everybody wants a BLT sammich, nobody wants a BM sammich.:Rofl

I'm with sea ray! A mater sandwich don't have bacon on it...if it's got bacon then it needs lettuce to be a legitimate BLT.

But any sand which with a fresh mater is fine eating!!!
