Lake Talquin Slabfest November 5, 2016

This years Slabfest has been scheduled for Nov.5, 2016. This years event will be scaled down a notch or 2. We are going to skip the door prizes and ticket selling and only planning on doing the Fish Fry on Friday evening at the The Crappie Shack at Lake Talquin Lodge and possibly a Hot Dog Lunch on Saturday. There will be a donation can to help with the food expenses. This year will be more of a Meet and Greet type event. There may be a Fruit Jar Tournament on Friday and/or Saturday if someone is wanting to head one of those up. Just trying to keep it as simple as we can and still enjoy the maximum amount of fishing time. I talked with Pat at Lake Talquin Lodge and she said that weekend has not booked up yet and that she is in the middle of remodeling all the cabins this summer. They should be ready by the Fall. If anyone has any ideas, out them out there and we'll kick them around and see what we can come up with. Cabins usually book up pretty fast in November so make reservations early if you already know that you are planning on attending. 850-627-3822 is their number. Looking forward to another great turnout.

Sounds just right Tim. I'm in and I'm bringing my old partner. No not Mae, my fishing buddy Warren, God willing. Already reserved. Will it be long lining time?

I think there should be a pole limit this year...... Maybe no more than 25 per boat.....

Wish I lived closer Tim, Eileen and I would love to attend one of you famous slabfest.

As of today, there are 2 cabins, 2 mobile homes and 3 motel rooms left at Lake Talquin Lodge for the weekend of Nov 5...They won't last long. Phone number for Lake Talquin Lodge is 850-627-3822.
