tried to tell by the facebook comments. All I learned is I am supposed to feel sorry for it? Looks like some kind of eating machine to me. DP
Looks like it came from the depths of H3ll.:biggrin
Believe it is a Goblin Shark. Nasty looking creature.
Can you imagine catfishing at night and about 2 am you pull this thing up to the side of your boat. HAHA!!!
since it has no eyes, you can be certain it will not be swimming anywhere near you unless you are on the ocean floor in thousands of fett of water :biggrin
Russ that's enough... That thing scares the crap outta me!
First time I pull up a crappie with one of them attached to it.... I am gonna complain to fish and wildlife. I thought lampreys were bad.
It is definitely some kind of deep water cartilagonous fish (related to sharks, rays, and skates). Jigflinger may be right. I saw some Goblin Sharks on shark week and they look pretty similar. The crazy thing is that we know very little about the creatures that prowl the depths of our ocean. It is the last great unexplored area on our planet. My son Jacob has decided that he no longer wants to be a paleontologist. He now wants to be a deep water shark biologist. Pretty coo!
Think I will name it, this new scientific sophisticated name "Damblinduglybittingfish":biggrin
