Freshwater Needlefish .... possibly an aquarium pet that was released after getting too big for the aquarium :dono
I don't what it is, but it's cool!!
It ain't a crappie, so it's a trash fish in my book... peculiar looking I grant ya [emoji12]
interesting ketch there ....looks like salty needlefish to me ? they may be able to survive a freshwater habitat ....might have gotten there in a strange way ? maybe a waterspout ? or some other natural flood type of issue ? very cool for sure :cheers2
Cool looking fish! Bet it ate a lot of crappie in it's day.
It is a needlefish.....and they do and can live in fresh water sometimes. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Needlefish
Years ago I rode my motorcycle down to an area we call Back Bay and met a couple friends to do some crappie fishing. I caught one of those but not as big. Anyway I thought I would take it home to show the kids so I threw it in the saddlebags. I think it was 4-6 weeks later I remembered it. Talk about stink.
