Been a tuff few hours for me, lost 2 cranks, broke a pole then dropped the reel section overboard, braid line in the outboard, caught 2 crappie, 1 keeper

Sounds like "murphy's law". Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Hope you have better luck next time.
