Swan creek Kayak report
Went back to Swan creek Monday morning . After the rain the water was up about 6 inches. This opened up a lot more water to fish as it was over the top of the moss. Caught fish from the put in all the way to the back. 60 or so gills and crackers and 10 or so bass. Had 1 bass close to 4 lbs and another about 2 1/2 . All on a fly rod with popping bug. I saw a big cotton mouth headed for the bank. He stopped and looked at me them went on about his business. They were really eating the popper . The shell crackers really want it still before they will hit it. I would cast it ,take the slack out and wait for 30 sec or more before they would bust it . Very fun way to catch them. All were released to catch another day

It still amazes me how many good fish there are in that hole. The secret is simple fishing where others aren't, even if it seems to be to small or shallow. You wouldn't believe the numbers of gills and quality bass I found in Limestone Creek the last couple weeks.

Nice job....I keep thinking I am going to head back in there and throw some top water bass lures after a good rain. This year however I have focused on gills and crappie and had a lot more fun than when I bass fish.
