Crankbait Trolling Rod Question

I recently started pulling cranks for crappie. I have a couple 12' crappie jigging spinning rods...would those work OK pulling Bandit 200 and 300s? I would like to get my baits spread out a bit more to eliminate tangling and let me get another rod in the water, and I was thinking I could put these out the sides and give me more room out the back of the boat. The longer rods are fairly light action, so maybe it won't work great. I'm using medium casting rods with baitcasters for my other rods...6'6" and 7'. Hope this isn't a stupid question. Thanks!

Not a stupid question at all. There are several long rods that are perfect for cranking. I have been using B&M Pro Staff Trolling rods for years and been very happy with them. They have a stiffer backbone than most jig poles. I know Wally Marshall/Lews makes some good trolling rods. Ed Dukes at Southern Crappie has come out with a long rod for pulling cranks as well.

I use 2 12 foot west point crappie rods and they do good I dont think you would have any issues at all.
