Fishing rod recommendation for throwing 1/32 oz jigs

I have been fishing more and more 1/32 oz jig heads lately and really don't have a rod that will cast them very far. What do you recommend? I would like to keep it cheap...letting kids use them I don't want anything expensive. I like the looks of the 4'6" Mr. Crappie UL rig at Academy...and the balance feels good. The other rig I have looked at is the 4'6" Shakespear Micro Series UL spinning rig at Wal-Mart. Will the 4'6" rods throw a 1/32 jig very far? I have also seen a 7' Micro Series rod at Wal-Mart in Light weight not UL. What do you think?

The rods I use are from walmart in Madison. It is a 6 1/2 ft light action rod. I will check the name tomorrow and post it. It will sling the little jig very well. Only about 17.00 I think. Will post a picture as well

Thanks...Yeah it is your fault...you got me started with the 1/32 jig heads you gave me. I like they way they fish, just don't throw well on my medium action stuff.

Longer rod, lighter line, bigger reel spool ...

All will help you cast farther.

Here is the set up I use. Shakespeare micro series rod 7 ft light action 2 piece rod and a cardinal sx10 reel. Both from Madison Wal mart.
Rod was about 17.00 and reel was 29.00 very good combo for the light jigs. Have caught bass up to 4 lbs on it . I use the 6 lb high vis. line

Thanks guys I see at least one of these 7' micro series rods in my future and I will check out the Cardinal and Pfleuger reels. I have been hooked on the Mitchell Avocet II reels and they changed them up so I have been looking for a replacement. I pretty much and hooked on the 6 lb hi vis Mr. Crappie Line for crappie and gills.

Went by and picked up the 7' Micro Series rod at Wal-Mart this afternoon. I am going to use a Shimano reel that I already have spooled with 6 lb hi vis line with it for now. I will probably upgrade the reel a little later.

Of all the rods i've ever tried for casting 1/32oz jigs, the micro lite glass rod from BPS is hands down my favorite and it's the cheapest! They are also only $20. I like the 5.5 or 6 ft rods for cast 1/32 oz jigs. Use 4lbs test line. The more line you have on your reel the easier it is. I use shimano Sedona reels.
