now squirrel stew and sliced tomato .
Never had a squirrel bother a tomato.......birds peck some of the first ones ........all about gone......but tomato samichies are still good. Friend used traps and caught 20-25 before corn season.....all moved to hunting club.
Monroe county squirrels love them. They can even carry a tomato up to the top of a fence post and sit there and gnaw away. My wife has gardened for years. Long ago she deemed that they are "pointy faced devils". They love our blackberries also.Quote:

Had my bird food in a plastic container and the Devils chewed through the top to get to it. Had to get a metal trash can let them chew on that for awhile. They are smart a** little monsters,caught one of them trying to push the lid off of the trash can.
