Holiday Weekend....What Ya'll Doing?!?

Every year I ask what are you guys gonna do this Holiday weekend and always get the answer that "I aint fishing cause of too much boat traffic." Well, every year I find myself on the lake all to myself for the first few daylight hours and it's usually on the 4th of July. Guess the drunks dont get up early enough and the campers dont start breakfast until sun-up and drag around getting their boats on the water until around 10AM or so. Every year I usually catch a decent amount of fish and ALWAYS seems to have the lake to myself for the most part until it's getting warm and I start thinking about quitting anyways.

So, that being said....................anybody have any plans for this weekend? As usual....I'll probably find myself on the lake somewhere sometime during this weekend trying to bring home a mess of fish even though my plans will have me there at daylight and ready to call it quits @ 10AM or so. Tomorrow morning I'm meeting Allen to replace a rotten floor and replacing a torn off metal roof on one of our deer stands but that shouldnt take but an hour or two. What ya'll doing this weekend?!?

Tim he will most probably be fishing Clarke Hill as that is his home lake. If you want to learn lake Murray then pm me and we will get together and I will give you a tour of Murray and show you some good places to fish for crappie and stripers.

I started the weekend Friday night going on Murray for Stripers with friends Harry and Uncle Remus, who drove down to fish with us. Unfortunately the fish were not biting like they were when I went a couple of weeks ago. We only caught two Stripers, the biggest around 8 lbs. There were two guys sitting right where I had planned to fish so we set up just down from them. They caught 3 nice fish before they gave up. We quit at about 11 PM and called it a night
Saturday I am buying some ribs and brisket to smoke. for the 4th.

Butch good luck working on the stands, I have not hunted in 10 years or better but I have an itch happening to go so I may knock off the dust from the 30-6 and hit the woods a few times this year.
The boats coming past my house looks like a parade so the upstate lakes are looking to be full of boats but some calm waters may be found? not sure LOL.
It has been way too long since I have been on a lake, I hope you do well along with everyone else that hits the lake this weekend.

Not fishing, got some catch up stuff to do and the wife has me going after a load of dirt to put in our memorial garden for my daughter. We lost her 17 years ago July 6th. We will be busy with the other kids and their kids all weekend. Hope who ever gets out catches a boat load of fish. Good luck and Happy 4th.:fish
