Reelfoot Report 2016
I've heard a lot talk about Reelfoot being dead, but I beg to differ. My Dad(Slayer54) and I, along with a variety of other family, had the best spring at Reelfoot we've had in 3 or 4 years. We each managed to stock a freezer full and still return some big fish back for next year. I started trolling in late January and nearly froze to death, but managed to catch a few. Dad moved his camper to the State Park around the 1st of March and promptly found them in the trees already. So we spent the next 3 months jigging the trees on the south end of the lake. Every fish pictured was caught on a black and white tube jig, and a 12' BBUL BnM ultralight, with Chris Stapleton blaring on the stereo.
On a side note, going slow doesn't always save the prop. The one time I idled across I smoked a brand new prop.

Some of the bigger fish from this year. The very last one is Dad(Slayer54) with his 3lb 2oz, 17 3/4" fish he caught on one of the last days and turned loose after a quick ride to the boat ramp for weight and measure.

That was a super report. Congrats to all. Great photos.

Good report and the fishing looks good there.

love it! I'm trying to talk my grandpa into camping there for a week or two like he used to so I can do some fishing there this fall.

I have been considering a trip to RFL and I think you just made up my mind.

Good fish. All I got at Reelfoot was: I got lost! Had fun though.

It was a good spring for most. I had several good days and had a few poor days also. The fish seemed to be bigger then normal this spring for some reason but that's a good thing, hopefully this fall will be good also but as for now the crappie bite is slow slow slow!!!!
