Tillery this weekend?
Headed down to my brothers and fishing Tillery this weekend. Probably crappie and catfish. Anybody got any tips on location and depths right now. And if you have any tips to keep the perch off long enough to get a crappie to bite, I would love that. lol. Last trip I bet we caught 200 perch and 2 crappie.

Thanks. There are a ton of them in there. At least they are nice size in Tillery. We have tons in Hickory too, but much smaller than Tillery overall. Last time I fished it, we caught probably 12 or more huge ones on striper umbrella rigs.

We did last Saturday for a few hours. It got so windy it blew us off the lake. Caught several smaller bass trolling, but no walleye. Did try the night crawler harness for a shout time right before we left, but nothing. We had to stay in the coves, but were marking fish right at the bottom in about 70 foot of water outside of the coves. Figured that was the walleye, but too windy to get anything down to them.
We do eat a bunch of the perch, but nothing beats a cornmeal dipped fried up crappie.

Got to Tillery Sunday am, but only had a few hours to fish. Fished form about 9:30 to 11:30. Trolled crankbaits most of the time catching several nice perch, two nice cats, and one huge crappie. Guys came through pulling jigs and said they had 8 nice crappie so we changed over to jigs and never got a bite for probably 45 minutes.
