height for condos
gonna make some condo's with some hardwood I picked up at sone house remodeling sites. using 5 gal. buckets and quickcrete, how tall does the wood need to stand and how wide can the boards be? I have several widths, but most are 2x4's. all mine will be dropped in 7-9 ft of water. thanks. paul

I think it sort of depends on the lake. Are there skiers in the area? Because you don't want to hurt anyone. If skiers are for sure not a problem, then you can vary the height from just a foot or two off the bottom all the way up as close as you want to the surface. If it's a clear lake, you may want to keep them deep enough to keep other fishermen from spotting them. If there ARE skiers, I would make them look like a stump field and keep them all pretty close to the bottom. Good luck!

thanks Vic. big time stump lake, no skiers less they want a cypress stump in their chest :Rofl. water is always stained 6-9 ft deep.

If you already have a lot of stumps, maybe you can find a spot like a channel that goes from shallow to deep but doesn't have many stumps. Sounds like you can set things up the way you want!

1/2 depth of water if it is 5 to 9 foot depth . I keep them low enough boating hazard not a problem . I like 2 x 2'' and spread out as much as possiable .
