Thinking about buying a set of spyderLOKS for the front of my boat, but I'm concern about the four sheet metal screws holding the unit to the aluminum deck. Has anyone had a problem with the screws pulling out after extended use. It seems like the extended length or height would stress the attachment to the deck. Please advise if you have any problems. Thanks

I used self tapping screws for my tite loks and haven't had a problem in 4 years. Make sure the threads go all the way up to the head.
Was lucky and have my bases mounted so I could use a pan head bolt and nut.

Get you a self tapping screw one size smaller and use it to start your holes then run the mounting screws in. They should never come loose.
NO PROBLEMS FOR ME EITHER
If ya want, I put a dab of red lock tite on all my screws, sometimes blue, and they have never worked loose on my Jon boats.

I have not had any problems except in fiberglass where they drilled the pilot hole too large, and only a couple of those.
The SpyderLok should come with # 14 SS screws. I use a # 12 self tapping hex head screw for the pilot hole, and the # 14 screw works like a charm. I've had zero problems with that. If you are concerned, put a drop of oil on the screw, aluminum only, before you screw it in. One caution tho, if you use a direct drive drill to insert the screws, you need to be careful, you can twist the screws off. I use an impact drill.
My Pondtoon is put together with self tapping screws(and rivets). They seem to do the job.
Whoever installed my EZ Poldholders did a good job.:)
