I am looking at a Helix 9 SI/GPS KVD. I can not find anywhere what the KVD stands for and what it does. What does it do and do I need it? It is the same price with or without it. I have a Helix 7 DI/GPS on my Terrova. Would the 7 SI be a good one for the console?
I always thought it was just Kevin Van Dam's signature as a marketing effort and never could find anything dire rent for functions. One of the smart guys on here will tell us

KVD also should come with a Navionics card.
The KVD models come with a "How-to" booklet, a fishing lure, and red bling on the buttons ...
Only the KVD Nav models (Nav actually in the model name) come with a Navionics card ...
