Ok I am from Arkansas but have been in texas for 16 years now so that being said we are going to lake greeson next week for a family reunion and what do they consider a bait fish and is a cast net legal to use it will be fish free weekend and just don't want any trouble I will be looking to catch crappie but also catfish

Hey buddy! Welcome to the site! Im glad you are visiting arkansas for some awesome fishing opportunity! Your picking a beautiful lake to catch from and the fish are gorgeous as well! Supposed to be some nice catfsih in there as well. There are alot on here that know more than I about the lake and the rules.....but I will help out some where I can. A cast net is legal to catch bait like shad, small bream 4 inches or less,etc. Better not keep any crappie, big bream, catfish that you caught in the net. Pretty much if it is a fish you would like to eat most likely better let it go if ya catch it in a cast/throw net. I wish you good luck! Let us know how you do!

casting nets for gamefish such as crappie, bass,etc. is illegal and will get you a hefty fine if caught!

i will only use my cast net for bait sorry i did not make that clear i just got off the phone with the Lake Greeson Corp of Engineers Office and they are sending me the location of the crappie condos thanks for all the help
