How many ever caught a fish with another lure in it ?

I was jig fishing yesterday with my usual purple/chart jig. Got a good thump and boated a good Crappie . Did not think much except one more good Crappie towards my limit as I swung it in . To my suprize some fisherman had broke it off awhile back . The fish had a chartruse curly tail on a painted head in it's jaw and about 6'' of line but jig was black with crud . Wonder how long it carried that bait for it to be like that ?

Yessir! Same thing happened to me and a friend one afternoon. He borrowed a bait from me and hooked something that eventually broke off....later that evening we were catfishing and brought in a cat, and that bait was still stuck in the side of his mouth. No rust!!

i have managed a crappie with a wire hook in it before . but thats a cool story for sure

I was spot fishin bass a week ago and seen one with a soft plastic stickin in its mouth. I tried but couldn't get him to strike. Just wanted to get that bait off him.

It's been a while but I'm sure the minna fisherman that got his line broken when he set the hook on this'un had a story of the "4lb crappie" that broke his line.....

Was trout fishing in Cherokee NC and hooker a nice rainbow. Got him close enoug to see he had my fly and a Mepps spinner in his jaw. He broke me off soon there after. I fished that same pool later in the day and hooked the same gosh. Landed j this time. He had my fly, the Mepps spinner and a small bare hook in his mouth . I relieved him of all the jewelry and let him go. He deserved to live to fight another day. He was a chunky 16-17 inches long.

I have caught numerous fish with hooks in them, but never one with a jig. Brenda caught a bass with a piece of a spinner bait in its mouth long time ago during the Triassic Period.

I have broken off when the fish wraps itself around wood.
Glad to see they are surviving with hooks in em.
