My wife and I had some free time without the kids last night so we decided to spend the evening at Tville. They were parked on the hill at Settlers Trace but there were a lot of boats leaving so I figured we could sneak in and unload pretty quickly. We were on the water at around 6:30pm and on my spot at about 6:40.
The water was just about a half foot above summer pool and not as dingy as last week. All the debris has been blown out of the water by the numerous wakeboarding boats and jet skis. (At least I can find some use for them!) Water temp was 77 deg when we left at dusk.
Despite the numerous whitecaps and rollers, we were able to hold on my spot pretty good and find some fish. I scanned over my brush and saw several fish suspended above it, which is always a good sign the fish are active. I got our spider rigs set up and as soon as we got to the pile, we got thumped. My wife caught the biggest fish, which I was glad to see. She got used to recognizing when a craap would hit her poles and it was smooth sailing from there. She helped with the trolling motor and watching our waypoints. Many people don't understand how special it is getting a few hours alone doing something we both love after 7 years of raising and homeschooling two children. I'm proud of and very thankful for my wife.
We spider rigged minnows, half on Lime Green jig heads and half on Capps & Coleman rigs. Both were just as effective. I culled several 9"-10" fish and took home 7 craaps, all 11"-11 1/2". I also caught 2 hybrids and had a very large catfish snap my line. It's a good time for many different species at Tville. Several guys were still out night fishing when we left.

It was a beautiful night with my beautiful wife on my beautiful home lake catching some beautiful crappie. Can't get much better than that!
