Tempers on the water
How many of you guys have had a complete melt down on the water? I have had a few over the years, but try my best to keep that beast at Bay and tell myself well that's just fishing when things go wrong. But still even today sometimes i start speaking Indian chants to myself... fishing buddy in the boat or not... I have also had buddy's, family members, and witnessed folks in other boats have a complete angler melt downs on the water. It's always funnier when it happens to them. LOL I have noticed my urges to melt down increase with wind and spider rigging, Don't know why but it does. I have started this thread to help with Fishing Anger Management, just in case some of you want to lower your Fishing blood pressure.:biggrin

No meltdowns here, I look at it as fishing is supposed to be fun and relaxing, if I'm getting mad things are too serious......although all those bass boats that like to slow down to 1/4 throttle when they get close, or take off right beside you do escalate the blood pressure [emoji16]

Oh I get a little frustrated sometimes because I can't see as well as I used to and my fingers are not as supple as they once were. It's really frustrating when my partner is catching fish and I can't get my jig tied on :). I did use really bad language once while fishing. I hooked a 9 pound large mouth bass on a crappie pole without a reel. I was probably using eight lb test line. I ran from one end of the boat to the other in a 14 ft jon boat jumping tackle boxes and ice coolers. I made several trips back and forth before I got him landed. My partner said he had never heard anyone talk so bad to a fish before.

I have quit trying to use a spider rig and gone back to single pole. My temper has leveled out accordingly.

Yeap....Been know to melt down. Once I melted about some new line counter reels I bought from a major mail order big box store while on the lake, and threw every one of them in the lake.....yeap that melt down cost me. :banghead

When it involves rude people on the lake I just keep saying " you can't fix stupid " and try to laugh about it.

Yes that is why I quit Bass tournament fishing, it's just for fun anymore that way it takes the pressure off, I just enjoy being out in Gods creation seeing the sites and sounds.

well said broke pole. I don't take it serious enough to get too mad till I get hung on a stump in Conway :bash

Never melt down, but get depressed at times when I'm on fish, and other boaters move in beside me. Once within arms reach. Three in their boat, and just me. Gave it up and moved on.

I need a detailed diagram of the 4 fish hold. I only get frustrated trying to get that perfectly right. [emoji23][emoji23]
