Rez Report-Summertime Slabs

As a school teacher, my favorite time of the year is here! Yesterday was our last day of school so i talked Leann into letting me take a quick afternoon trip. They big females have moved out to the river ledge and I Love It. Not many people are glad to see the spawn go but it get the majority of the boats off of the Rez which makes fishing the river possible. I can't tell you how nice it was to finally get to fish on a day other than Saturday...almost no boat traffic

Nice! I can't imagine only fishing on Saturdays. I don't even fish the weekends during March or April anymore. Perks of shift work!

About the boat traffic- somebody can correct me if I'm wrong but pretty certain I am not, there as been at least 1 sanctioned bass tournament several times 2 and at least once 3 going on every Saturday since March. It has been unreal. One Saturday i got my boat in the water 30 minutes before daylight and could not even go fishing til an 1 1/2 hours later because of all the bass boats achored waiting for blast off. That weekend there was 2 tournament, one adult tourney and the high school championship

But a good thing did come of all the traffic. It forced me to learn the south and middle of the Rez because those landings are not nearly as busy with bass boats

Nice Catch....I work shift work and only fish during the week....It is nice!
