Heading that way in morning. Would anyone be willing to give a person some pointers on either of these lakes or another. Would like to put the sister and brother n law on a few for a fry while we are there for the week. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Worked hard this afternoon for three good fish at Arkabutla pulling cranks. All post spawn crappie and they are scattered and hard to locate. Bumping thru submerged brush 8' -10' deep or so in 17' - 20' of water. Been skunked at sardis twice this year during the spawn. Haven't tried Enid, but heard some are doing decent well pulling or long lining. Grenada the same from what I understand. Post spawn can be difficult and pulling cranks offers the opportunity to cover more area. Don't know how your setup to fish, hopefully some other locals on these lakes will chime in for you. May wanna take note of the winds tomorrow as well.. good luck!! Sorry I couldn't be of more help to you :-(
Pulling a 1/8 & 1/16 near river channel three keepers, about forty 11 3/4 inch short fish. Another boat I talked with had 16 keepers.
You did better than us.. We had 1 keeper.. Quit at 5, went up cane and back out, around the island and into hurricane a good ways!Quote:

I would go to Enid. Troll minnows right outside the bank/bushes. You will catch a bunch of short fish but will scratch threw a few keepers. Try deeper water for bigger fish but they are lil harder to come by in my experience post spawn but I'm just a weekend angler no expert. Good luck an give us a feed back. I will
Be going to arkabulta since it's close to house am not much time to fish in the am.
I fished yesterday (Enid...like it would be anywhere else) morning from 6 to 12pm and caught an estimated 4000 fish-some no bigger than the shad I use for catfish bait. Came home with 3 keepers in 6 hours. I was fishing shallow, in probably 2 to 5 feet of water, casting a jig and cork in toward the banks (really towards the bushes...with the water as high as it is there aren't many actual banks). Best of luck to you wherever you end up.
I fished Enid all last weekend. I started catching alot of fish once I started long linning road runners with a paddle tail grub. Purple/chart did decent but Cajun Cricket took the prize for color of the day. I trolled in 16-18 fow with the road runners. Im not sure how deep I was but I will say i was using my line counter reels and 80-100 feet back was the best. Most of the fish i caught were in the 6-8 inch range. Not big at all. Only had 2 keepers out of the 50-70 I caught. If you wanna catch fish go to Enid. If you wanna catch keepers go somewhere else. Last 2 sentences are just what I experienced. Someone else may really be in the keepers. I wasn't tho I promise ya! Good luck!

Wasn't ignoring you Ducker, just didn't wanna jack no thread... lol. It's been days on a post an OP left it hanging so here goes. I'm glad to hear of one being caught on the north end of the lake, gives me some hope.. my two mile loop has runs it's course, I reckon. And been a time or two since last Friday, white bass and a few small cats.. Arkies are a white bass magnet on Butla it seems.. I went back to bandits, but still no luck with the crappie.. I think the post spawns may be reluctant to bite (cool front?) or theymoved on to greener pastures.. but who knows with them critters :-)
