The 7 with DI.
Altho the HELIX 7 will not network with any other unit ...
cray gives good advice ... in that a dedicated DI unit can be very advantageous on the bow for vertical type fishing methods ...while the SI at the console can be utilized for searching at idle speed ...

I have a lowrance x96 on the bow that's still kicking after quite a few years of use but one of these days I'm gonna replace it with a di unit and the Hummingbird helix 7 di looks to be a very nice one.
Just noticed this morning that Brian at BBGMarine has a really good buy on the KVD edition 859 DI. It's in the sponsors section.

Rickie can you explain the other advantages the helix 9 SI have over the helix 7 SI beside networking?

The Helix 7 is on the boat from the factory. I don't know if the dealer will upgrade to the 9 or not. This will be the last boat I will ever buy. Sure would like to have the latest and greatest on it.
