What areas in darbonne lake would it be safe to pull cranks in??? Would I just follow the channels or get in the flats and hope I don't lose my baits??? Thanks!

Having seen the flats with the lake pulled down, I would save my crankbaits. Of course some of that wood may have decomposed and it may not be a problem.
I assume that the cranks 'll bounce off of most of that wood and if the fish are suspended it should not be a problem.I fished alot of cranks for bass way back when and pulled alot of fish out of"worm" territory using a crank bait. it more often bounced off cover than got hung.Trot lines will keep them now but wood not so much.
You can tell that I no nothing about pulling crankbaits for crappie. LOL.
Well I guess I can just give it a try and hope for the best. lol I've only just started using crank baits so I'm not real sure o there ability to bounce off stuff.
Alot of the white crappie suspend in open water during the summer so i find bait on the ff and drag the cranks through the bait. If you get a feel for how deep your baits are and you know the dow you're in once you see that rod change from the steady vibration to crazy..... Fish on! Relax and have fun and some smart guy told me once.... Never stop moving when pulling cranks. Thanks TGE.Quote:
