Cedar Creek Striper report*
I put in about 7:30 this morning only to find the water very muddy. Was there so I figured I'd drown the bait I had left over from Saturday nite. I ran up to about the big rock on the East side of the river stopped and put 12 lines in the water. Water temp 70 degrees about 12-17ft deep depending on where I was. I headed up river to the power lines. Shortly after passing the rock I pulled in a decent striper and released it. The a couple cats, more Stripers. They were hitting down rods, Flat lines and planer board equally I got 9 into the boat plus I don't know how many Cats, I released all but one for the frying pan.
Pulled out at 1:45 and headed back to Poop Central.
Weather was perfect overcast not too hot, the wind did come up about 12:30 or so. The Dam blew the whistle at 11:45 with no noticeable increase in water flow, I think they were just teasing me, I put my sandwich away thinking the fight would be on shortly. With 12 lines in the water if they got started I'd have my hands full....it didn't happen, just hit and miss.
Two got off both broke the line, one had to be a large fish it did one long run from one side of the boat under the back and didn't slow down (down line) the other yanked the planer board about 100ft back down river and never slowed down.
I talked to a guy that said he caught over 70 Crappie trolling jigs and took home 20 over 10" and over. At least I mentioned Crappie fishing.
Here one of the cats and the striper I took home.
