Just wanted to let everyone know that if you launch at Sledd Creek, to make sure you keep everything locked up tight!! Had about $300.00 worth of tools and an ice chest stole out of the back of my truck sometime Sat!!

That sucks but doesn't surprise me. There used to be campsites there that looked like they were reserved for meth-nation. I'm sure there are some who routinely patrol that ramp area for whatever they can steal.
I now pay $5 per launch at a resort where I can leave my truck unlocked if I choose to. My topper and truck are locked up tight at other launches but a lock won't stop a thief most of the time. My trailer is always locked to my truck also. I can see myself seriously hurt somebody I caught breaking into my business, home or vehicles. The judicial system won't do anything to them. Maybe it's time we start taking action ourselves. My truck and business would be one thing. Break into my home with my family there and you will be carried out after I run out of ammo. Warning shots don't apply.
"Office, I feared for my life" right before I emptied my clip.
yep
I always launch at a marina. Cause they are constantly patrolling them.

I've launched there 4 or 5 times this year because it's closer to some of my tops, but I guess I'll be doing that from now on at KDM, or Big Bear. Dux, I have noticed the camp sites on the left coming in to the ramp, and they were all full Sat. morning. The ice chest just had some slimy ice from the crappie we caught Fri, but I guess it was that nice new Crappie. Com sticker on it that made it worth stealing!!!! Hahaha!
Your cooler just made an easy way to haul off your tools. You can always wish somebody will get food poisoning from using it.
I hate to say it, but paving that road into Sledd ramp has not been a positive for the fisherman that use it.
I hate to here it, A guy lost his boat, trailer and a lot of his goodies parked at Bass Pro last year. Here in Memphis!
I carry all the time.
This seems to be working for me...they used to steal my Permanent license plate on my trailer...cost me $20....
