Truman Tuesday May3
I put in at Shawnee bend at 10:30, and immediately noticed the lake was up 5 or 6 feet since my last visit. Not good... I have a hard enough time dealing with stable water let alone a 5-6' rise. I went up Tebo Creek and stopped at Snow Creek (???) where I had good success a week or more ago. The bite was timid to say the least. I caught 4 - 5 shorts, one 10" crappie, a 12" bass and a 5 lb drum while tied up to a tree about 30 feet off the bank.
I spent the next 4 hours burning gas and looking around. What I saw was not good... everything looked exactly the same. The same water color, the same cover (or lack there-of), the same bottom contours. I was looking for "different," and didn't find it. So much for my second attempt at crappie fishing on Truman.

High water is a great time to two pole slow troll with a weedless jig head/jig... just cause you can't see it doesn't mean their isn't cover.
