I fish and tie hair jigs, kiptail and Bucktails. Not just on the tail as some of you guys do on jigs. The whole jig is hair and when stored in a regular slot type box the tails get crunched and have a permanent curl to them.
I was thinking of maybe a fly fishermans type slotted fly Box but for streamers or saltwater type flys. But they are pretty pricy. Any suggestions?
Bass Pro has a very large selection of boxes to chose from. Even some of there slotted fly boxes are knock off's of the real pricier ones. If looking for cheap storage I use plastic bags made for such objects. I think they are either one or two inches wide by two to four inches long. I get mine at fishing flea markets and such. They cost a few penny's each. Yes they will smash the material down but you can steam them back as good as new and let set out to dry for a few minutes.

Why not do a search on here about storage for jigs? We have had lots of discussions on here. So why not search and heck try using my name (skiptomylu) as the thread starter as I have shared my info here for sure with pictures and all.

I did.
I fish by foot and the boxes need to be small and fit in back pack or smaller size over the shoulder tackle bag. Don't need organization at home or the tying desk. Need it for storage while fishing.

Get some really big straws that your jig head will fit in put a slice down the straw and slide them in with the eye up through the slit and then just put them in a box.

I too am on foot and I bought a double sided fly box from Dicks that I have all my hair jigs in... It has worked great this year
