Lake Cumberland (london dock)
-
This is sad, I guess it is better now thatn latter. How much lower is she going? The run off is going into Barkley Lake. I can tell that the water is running over its normal winter stage. Is there a time frame they are trying to get the water out? I hope she comes back soon! THE BANDIT

How long is this gonna last?
-
Their holding the water here too!! Everybody better look out!! Got a feeling we"ll be bombarded with all Cumberlands Boaters this year.
-
My friends at Cave Run are expecting an increase in boaters also.
-
For those who ask, the water is falling atleast 4ft before monday feb.12th(its fallen 2 since the pics)...and this work on the dam is expected to last atleast 5 years and maybe longer.
At the end of the dock at full pool, it is approx. 45ft deep. and the lake is approx. 41ft below full pool now, so this area of the lake will see nothing but a river chanel(if that) for 5-7 years.
Here is a link that has the lake level and much more information if anyone is interested. Has some articles about the drawdown, and the whole dam situation;) .http://lakecumberland.com/
You guys can keep the extra people ....dont send em to laurel river lake...PLEASE dont!
-
Chigger, LOL -dont really want em here on the Hollow either!! Just figure we"ll get em ,The dams only 25 miles from here!!

Frank, I dont think this will be a big problem since there is no way to launch a boat. This area will be flatbottom johnboat or wading:eek: .
Dennis, Laurel is right on the interstate(75), and im expecting the recreational type people to flood the area. Oh well I guess there goes my summertime walleye fishing. Laurel is super crowded in the summer anyway, without all the extra.
I hope this doesnt cause parking problems and also more accidents. Not slinging mud, but the northern people dont respect our state's waterway's at all, much less the fishermen.

Hey, let's not blame all northern people. You guys are lucky the gov't built these lakes in your areas. Our biggest lake here in SW Ohio is only about 2600 acres. If you think it gets crowded there, just be thankful you have at least a few nice size lakes to go to. I know I'd trade those lakes in a minute.
If you're refering to the pleasure boaters, I find most to be a little self absorbed to not notice anything but themselves no matter where they're from. There's just a heck of alot of them up here.
